David Bowie Is

The David Bowie Is exhibition, developed by the V&A, explored Bowie’s creative process as a musical innovator and cultural icon.

The branding for the show combined the ACMI visual identity with the V&A creative direction, utilising the extendable phrase David Bowie Is… and Aladdin Sane image. A custom lightning bolt icon and gradient was developed to add to the core identity components, and the design outputs experimented with materiality to further convey Bowie’s transformative powers.
